Mission and Attributions

ANREEE’S mission is to provide, organize and maintain the registration of producers of EEE (electric and electronic equipment, DL 230/2004) and B&A (batteries and accumulators, DL6/2009) in order to allow effective monitoring and enforcement of its obligations and objectives set out in these diploma and other relevant legislation.

ANREEE began its registration activities of EEE in July 2005 and was licensed by the Portuguese Environment Agency (then INR) on March the 23rd 2006.

Later, we obtained the license for the registration activities of B&A on Dezember the 17th 2009, by the same Entity.

A Register of Producers exists to control the quantities of new products - EEE and B&A – placed on the market by producers.

These quantities are measured each year (information that is strictly confidential), allowing tANREEE to monitor the life cycle of these products and allow the appropriate scale waste management, so that they are properly valued and treated, minimizing the environmental impact.

It is ANREEE’s legal obligation to inform the competent public authorities, as well as alert for possible violations of registration requirements and rules inherent in the established laws.
ANREEE is also responsible for emitting Certificates of Registration, to registered producers.
